Effect of Different Solvents, Pore-Forming Agent and Solubility Parameter Differences on the Properties of PES Ultrafiltration Membrane

چکیده
In the production of polymeric membranes used in water treatment by non-solvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) method, materials membrane casting solution and interaction these greatly affect properties performance obtained membranes. this study, polyethersulfone (PES) are produced NIPS method using two different solvents, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as pore-forming agent. Chemical functional groups morphologies investigated Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. The viscosity solutions hydrophilicity, porosity, mean pore size, mechanical characterized. pure flux (PWF) is determined at 1 3 bar pressures. Hansen solubility parameters (HSP) calculated effect interactions DMSO, NMP, PVP with PES and/or non-solvent (water) on investigated.
